Meeting with EDB Regarding Key Exporter Issues

The Chairman and CEO of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Mr. Mangala Wijesinghe, together with EDB Board member Thushara Hettithantrige, the Director General and other representatives of the EDB met with the committee members of EASL to discuss key issues and suggested solutions the export industry is currently facing.

The proceedings commenced with a trade focused economic update by Mr. Sanjaya Ariyawansa, Chief Economist at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and was followed by sector specific discussions with sectoral representatives. Chairman EDB discussed the government and EDB's aim to achieve USD 25 billion in exports by 2030. Both EDB and EASL stated the need to collaborate and work together to uplift the export sector.
